The garden was lush, but no one knew where the water came from. Streams flowed, dew fell, and rain pattered, but the source remained a mystery. The fairies assumed the water was magic.
A young fairy named Brook, with hair like rushing water and wings like foam, decided to find the source. She flew upstream, past meadows and forests, past hills and rocks.
At the base of a mountain, she found a cave. From its depths came the sound of trickling water.
"Hello?" she called.
A voice echoed back. "Who seeks the spring?"
"Brook, a fairy. I want to know where the water comes from."
